Highway 50 at Highway 12 in Lake Geneva will be closed overnight Tuesday to complete bridge work on Highway 12.
From 7 p.m. June 2 to 6 a.m. June 3, the state Department of Transportation will close Highway 50 under Highway 12 from Edwards Boulevard to Grand Geneva Way.
According to the DOT, the closure is necessary to set girders on the Highway 12 bridge and ensure safety to the traveling public.
The department chose off-peak travel hours to minimize the effect on travel.
Westbound Highway 50 traffic will be detoured north on Highway 12 to the Highway 120 interchange then back south on Highway 12 to exit at Highway 50 westbound.
Eastbound Highway 50 traffic will:
- Go north on Edwards Boulevard and continue west as it turns into Sheridan Springs Road;
- Continue west on Sheridan Springs Road to County Road H;
- Go northeast on County H and Highway 120 to Highway 36;
- Go east on Highway 36 to Highway 83;
- Go south on Highway 83 to connect to Highway 50 eastbound.
