The Delavan-Darien School District Foundation is inviting community members to a fundraising event at the Delavan Lake Yacht Club that will benefit its scholarship programs.
The event, “Taste at the Lake,” features signature appetizers and beverages from local establishments including Greenie’s Clubhouse at Delbrook Golf Course, Brick Street Market, Brown Box Cheesecakes, Culver’s of Delavan, Hernandez Restaurant, Jo Jo’s Pizza, Sorg’s Quality Meats and Sausages, Staller Estate Vineyard and Winery, Stinebrink’s Piggly Wiggly and the Waterfront Pub and Eatery. Various wines and micro-brew beers will be available for tasting from nearby and regional crafters.
The event is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Delavan Lake Yacht Club, 1501 Cedar Point Drive. Tickets are $25. The event is open to people 21 years old and older.
Taste at the Lake will also include a silent auction, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Advance tickets are available at Community Bank CBD, 820 E. Geneva St., Bradley’s Department Store, 222 E. Walworth Ave., Stinebrink’s Piggly Wiggly, 1414 E. Geneva St., from foundation members or at the Delavan-Darien School District Administration Building, 324 Beloit St. Additionally, attendees may call event coordinator Lori Grover at 728-3779.
Each year, the Delavan-Darien School District Foundation awards more than 50 scholarships to graduating D-DHS seniors, totaling more than $50,000 value. All proceeds raised at Taste at the Lake will go to fund scholarships for this school year’s graduating seniors at D-DHS.
At the 2013 D-DHS graduation, all applicants eligible for a foundation scholarship received at least one scholarship valued at $250 or more.

Individual or corporate sponsorships for the event are also available.
Sponsorship levels are $250 for silver, $500 for gold and $1,000 for platinum. Such sponsorships are tax-deductible and donors receive exposure at the event while helping students obtain higher education. Sponsors also receive two complimentary tickets to the event.
