Highway 11 re-opened at about 12:15 p.m. after being closed Wednesday morning because of flooding.
About two-tenths of a mile of the road – from Highway 89 east to Pink’s Lane – was closed while crews worked to pump about a foot of water from the roadway.
Walworth County Department of Public Works crews worked Wednesday morning to pump standing water through a 6-inch hose to Turtle Creek.
Westbound motorists were advised to take County Road X to Interstate 43, go south on I-43 to Highway 14 and then west on Highway 14 back to Highway 11 11. Eastbound motorists should go east on Highway 14, north on Interstate 43 and then north on County Road X.

WisDOT offers the following tips on traveling in flooding conditions:
• Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas.
• If there is no other route, get to higher ground and wait for the waters to subside.
• Even if the water appears shallow enough to cross, don’t try it. Water hides dips in the road.
• Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control or possible stalling.
