Casey’s General Store has pursued new locations in small communities in recent months, and may soon continue that expansion into Walworth County, including Whitewater.
In Tuesday’s Whitewater Common Council meeting, the city’s aldermen approved the transfer of the alcohol beverage retail license, a Class A beer and liquor license, from Frawley Oil Company to Casey’s Marketing. Frawley Oil is the parent organization of the two Citgo stations in Whitewater.
On Wednesday, Mike Frawley of Frawley Oil confirmed the his company and Casey’s are in ongoing negotiations for five of the six Frawley convenience store locations, including the Westsider, 1353 W. Main Street, and the Eastsider, 650 E. Milwaukee Street.
“The transfer of beer and liquor licenses is important in deals like this, so if the deal doesn’t go through, it goes back to the initial holder of the license,” Frawley said.
