Resurfacing and bridge repair project slated to finish late spring
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is scheduled to recommence work Friday on Interstate 43, from Highway 12 in Elkhorn to Highway 83, in Mukwonago.
A single lane closure on I-43 (southbound) is scheduled to begin Friday. A short-term closure of the Highway 83 (southbound) on-ramp to I-43 is scheduled for mid-May. Major earth moving operations are scheduled to begin the first week of April.
The contractor, Payne and Dolan, plans on completing the project in late spring. The schedule is weather permitting and subject to change.
As always, the DOT urges motorists to remain alert and cautious when driving through a work zone.
