The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Elkhorn woman on Oct. 10 for multiple counts of theft.
The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division initiated an investigation after a business located in Hebron determined between 2010 and 2012 Kristin A Lauderdale, 38, had used her company credit card for personal and work related expenses. Lauderdale was subsequently reimbursed by her employer for the professional expenses. Lauderdale then unlawfully electronically transferred funds from a bank account owned by the business to pay the personal expenses charged, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation culminated with the arrest of Lauderdale by members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Lauderdale was taken into custody and is being held at the McHenry County Correctional Facility on a $40,000 bond. She is facing two felony counts for theft.
Lauderdale’s next scheduled court date is Nov. 5 at 9 a.m.
