Travelers on Interstate 43 near Delavan can now see large blue signs indicating a Tourist Information Center, installed earlier this month by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The signs are the newest addition to the Walworth County Visitors Bureau’s marketing efforts to ensure tourism is a top contributor to Walworth County’s economy. When the organization moved its offices from Elkhorn to Delavan in January, its walk-in traffic increased because of its proximity to Highway 50 and I-43. The bureau qualified for the Tourist Information Center signs through WisDOT because it is the sole organization to provide Walworth County-wide travel information for visitors and residents.
“There are so many things to do and see in Walworth County,” said Kathy Seeberg, executive director of the Walworth County Visitors Bureau. “These signs are another way to let travelers know about our organization and the extraordinary businesses that make up our membership.”
The Travel Information Center is at the Lake Lawn Airport, 2375 E. Geneva St. Visitors can peruse information about attractions, shopping and dining throughout Walworth County and the state. The center also has a picnic area and complimentary Wi-Fi. The center is open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit visitwalworthcounty.com for more information.
