Trina Adams, Walworth County payroll specialist, was awarded the American Payroll Association’s Citation of Merit at its annual conference, May 10, in Grapevine, Tx. She was nominated for this citation as a result of her contributions to the payroll profession through participation on the APA’s Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force.
The Walworth County Board of Supervisors recognized Adams’ achievements at their meeting June 11 when County Board Chair Nancy Russell congratulated her on behalf of the Board.
Nicki Andersen, Walworth County deputy county administrator-finance, stated, “It is a pleasure to have Ms. Adams in the finance department. She plays a key role in ensuring employees are paid timely and accurately, no easy task in this day and age with all of the payroll changes that occur. She is extremely committed to keeping her knowledge of payroll regulations and processes current. In 2008, she attained certification as a Certified Payroll Professional.”
Andersen added, “Ms. Adams plays an active role in the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of the American Payroll Association, as well as at the national level. She also volunteers to teach courses at the local high school during National Payroll Week and teaches in the fall and spring semesters in their personal finance classes. Walworth County certainly benefits from her enthusiasm and high level of commitment to the payroll profession.”
