An initial appearance was scheduled to resume Nov. 7 for an Elkhorn woman charged with growing marijuana in her Woodpine Drive home.
Michelle L. Kostuck-Hass, 38, was charged Oct. 11 in Walworth County Circuit Court with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, all as a party to a crime.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police searched Hass’ home Aug. 15 and found a growing operating in the basement that contained more than 75 potted marijuana plants in various stages of growth. The growing rooms contained lighting, ventilation systems, water, potting soil and other items used to manufacture marijuana. In a bedroom, police found two paper bags that contained 65.7 grams and 78.9 grams of marijuana – about a third of a pound total.
Hass told police she and her husband, Christopher Hass, began growing marijuana in February or March and it got “out of control.”
Christopher Hass, 34, pleaded not guilty Oct. 12 to manufacturing or delivering marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
