Police are on the search for a man suspected of attempting robbery of a Town of Sugar Creek bank that has was hit just months ago.
According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, at 9:20 a.m. Friday, deputies were called to Peoples Bank North branch located at W5102 County Trunk A for a report of a suspicious man trying to enter the building.
The man, who was caught on camera approaching the bank with a hood over his face and wearing black gloves, wind pants and running shoes, attempted to enter through the front doors, found it was locked, then ran toward Wandawega subdivision.
The man was described as white, around 6 feet tall with a “huskier build” and wearing a wearing a burgundy sweatshirt.
The call marks the second time police were dispatched to the bank for attempted robbery in three months. On Aug. 24, Robert C. Lynn allegedly went into the bank brandishing a handgun, then led police on a high-speed chase, before they shot him down to end the pursuit. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently handling the case.
