Caroline Crescencia Laursen, 96, of Whitewater/Hinsdale, died Jan. 11, 2014, at Our House in Whitewater. She was born on Feb. 4, 1917, to the late Julius and Wilhelmina (Beer) Schmitt in Chicago.
She graduated from St. Michael’s High School, Chicago, in 1935.
She married Einar William Laursen in 1941 at St Michael in Old Town Church, Chicago. Together they owned and operated Laursen’s TCC (Trailers, Campers, Campground) on Whitewater Lake outside of Whitewater, from 1975-89.
Survivors include her children, Paul (Carol), Whitewater, Glenn (Mary Ellen), Hot Springs, Ark., and Bruce, Melrose Park, Ill., Karenmarie (Bill) Meyer, Hinsdale, Ill.; grandchildren, Dan, Ann Marie, Brian, Vickie, Deanne, Donna, Dawn, Kaitlin, Bethany, Billy and Kristian; and nine great-grandchildren
Caroline was further preceded in death by her husband in 1997, and her son William, in 1973.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale, Ill.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Adolph Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook, Ill.
