August Nicholas Anstedt, 90, of Delavan, died at his home on Nov. 25, 2013. He was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Chicago, to August Anstedt and Freida Neuhause.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He married Mary Schultz in 1949 in Elkhorn, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
He owned and operated Elkhorn Machine Co. for most of his working life.
He was a longtime and active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Delavan.
He was a avid singer and sang with the Country Gentlemen for many years.
Survivors include his wife; son, Chuck, Delavan; daughters, Kathleen Shaw, Twin Lakes, and Jean Boersma, Florida; sisters, Delores Quaranta, Pensacola, Fla., Lorraine Richter, Prescott, Ariz., and Mary Ann Gates, Dewey, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Howard.
Funeral services were Nov. 30, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Angel Anaya officiating. Burial with full military rites followed in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
