Harvey Richard Gudeyon, 95, died Nov. 19, 2013, at his home in Whitewater. He was born on Jan. 10, 1918, to Richard and Mabel (Barker) Gudeyon, and lived on the family farm from infancy until 2006.
He married his sweetheart, Gladys Porter, on Feb. 9, 1944. They raised three children and farmed in Richmond until retiring and moving to Whitewater in 2006.
He dearly loved his family, farming, dancing, and his church. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Gladie, of nearly 70 years; son, Richard (Karen), Richmond; daughter, Kathleen (Donald) Klemp, Waterloo; daughter, Joyce (Bruce) Traxler, Whitewater; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Elsie Schoenbeck, Whitewater, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Schultz, and brothers, Ralph and Leslie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Richmond United Methodist Church, N6197 Church Road, with Rev. Kimberly Brumm officiating. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the church.
Memorials to the Richmond United Methodist Church or to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson are suggested.
