William Beetstra, 90, of Sharon, died Sept. 2, 2013, at Golden Years Health Care Center in Walworth. He was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Walworth, to Jacob and Grietza (Sytsma) Beetstra.
He married Patricia Fredrick on Dec. 2, 1950. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2000.
He farmed on Big Foot Prairie all of his life. He was a 64-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, Ill., member of the Harvard Moose and Big Foot Grange.
Survivors include his children, Donna, Florida; David, Harvard, Ill.; and Dawn (Pat) Fritz, Harvard, Ill.; granddaughters, Katie and Sarah Fritz; brothers, Leonard (Marion), Harvard, Ill., and Raymond (Marlene), Walworth; and sister, Grace McCullough, Sharon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, with the Rev. Jeff Borgerson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Harvard.
Memorials to the Sharon Fire and Rescue or First Presbyterian Church are suggested.
