In May 2022, Michael John Gardner passed away at the age of 54. He was born April 14, 1968, in Waukesha, to the late Donald Charles and Mary Eve (Mescher).
He attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Florida Christian College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Michael earned his ministry license and studied for ordination, serving as a volunteer at the Orange County Jail and Bible study ministry in Kissimmee.
On April 3 1992, he married Tiffany Kirsten Creech. They were blessed with two daughters, Kenna Tiffany and Lara Michele.
In November 1999, Michael was honorably retired from the U.S. Navy and awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Inspired by his faith and called to serve as a naval radar electronics technician, Michael performed community service when home for Christmas.
Michael had a strong faith and ready laugh. He enjoyed raising sheep for 4-H and fishing. He was entertained by local wildlife, especially the manatees.
He is survived by daughters; brothers, Don (Chris) and Dan (Patty); sister, Mary (Rob); nephews, Matt, Kellen and Daniel; and niece, Cori.
He was further preceded in death by his wife, Lin.
Michael will be put to rest at the Union Grove Cemetery, with military honors at 10 a.m. May 4.
