Patricia (Pat) Moering, 85, of Orono, Minnesota, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky, and Elkhorn, passed away on Jan 21, 2022.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Adeline; Aunt Alice (Emil), Uncles Frank, Melvin, George (Florence), and Grandma Martha.
Patricia is survived by her former husband, Herb (Carrol), and their children – Randy, Rene’ (Bill), Ladd (Audra), Cassandra (Bob), former daughter-in-law Carla; grandchildren Megan, Margo (Kyler), Rae Lynn (Daniel), Ben (Mercedes), Dakota, Russell; and great grandchildren Joseph and Journey; best friend Karen, Jenn, Dillon and Sally-dog; along with many other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
She achieved a B.A. and M.A. from UW-Whitewater. She touched the lives of many people as a counselor in psychology and through her artistic, cooking and baking accomplishments.
She was active as an actress and behind the scenes in community theater with the Belfry Players in Williams Bay. For several years she wrote a weekly column, “Through the Kitchen Window,” for the Elkhorn Independent newspaper. And she loved being the “story lady” for children’s time at the Matheson Memorial Library or reading to the children on the lawn in front of the log cabin at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn.
A memorial service for Pat Moering will be at the First United Methodist Church in Elkhorn on Sunday, June 26, at 1 p.m.
