Anita A. Hergott, 92, of Elkhorn, passed away July 19, 2021, at Lakeland Health Care Center.
She was born March 31, 1929, in Buffalo Grove, to Clem and Josephine (Raupp) Weidner. Anita was united in marriage to Gerald G. Hergott on April 15, 1952, in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Anita was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She worked at Sterlingworth, the Food Mart, the Monte Carlo Room and Vintage on the Ponds.
She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo, but most of all she loved gathering with her family. Anita had a welcoming spirit, an accepting heart, a hardworking attitude and a social personality. She was always ready to share a cup of hot coffee with whoever offered it up.
Anita is survived by children, Linda (Art) Greving of Elkhorn, Joyce Tueting of Elkhorn, Sharon (Richard) Behrens of Burlington, Geraldine (Robert) David of Elkhorn, Nancy (Steve) Boss of Delavan, Keith (Lynn) Hergott of Elkhorn, Joan (David) Roughen of Sun Prairie, Vicki (Allen) Bigelow of Winchester, Ind., Jeff Hergott of Delavan, Debra (Patrick) Conway of Mount Horeb, Tracy (Howie) Sawyers of Elkhorn and Kathy (Michael) Brandl of Stevens Point; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Coletta (the late Joseph) Lenzen, Lenore (the late Ralph) Reiser and Norman (the late Kay) Weidner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald G. Hergott; son, Wayne Hergott; granddaughter, Jessica Esch; sister, Madeline Behm; a brother in infancy, Donald; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Behm and Gerald Freund.
A mass of Christian burial was July 22 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Elkhorn. Visitation was July 22 Thursday at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes, Elkhorn. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn.
