Bernadine F. Salzman, 76, of Walworth passed away Feb. 11 at Golden Years Health Care Center in Walworth. She was born Aug. 5, 1936 in Illinois to the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Samules. She married Marvin P. Salzman April 10, 1955 in Wausau. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 2005. Bernadine did child care in her home for many years, was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana, St. Catherine Alter Society, Sharon Snowmobile Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She is survived by her children Marvin (Pat) of McHenry, Ill., Sue (Len) Schlieger of New Richland, Minn., Joe of Black River Falls, Roxanne (Tom) Kauer of Walworth, Ben of Wausau, James (Vicki) of Genoa City and Randy (Nikki) of Caledonia, Ill.; stepson, David (Laural) Leder of Scandinavia; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a twin sister Beatrice (Peter) Templeton of Marengo, Ill.
She was further preceded in death by her great grandson, Damien Cloney; her sister, Faye McCarthy and her brother, Benjamin Samules. Funeral services were Feb. 16 at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home in Walworth. Burial followed at Brick Church Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family would like memorials to the Lakeland School in Elkhorn.
