The van will help with field trips, Meals on Wheels and more
The Kunes Family Foundation recently teamed up with Seeds Of Hope, a local nonprofit organization in Elkhorn, which “plants possibilities” for adults with developmental and other disabilities.
Seeds Of Hope was the recipient of a transit, 15-passenger van that will be used to transport adults with developmental and other disabilities to community outings such as the library, local restaurants, assisting with Meals On Wheels, and a variety of other community activities.
Giving back to the community is one of the foundations of Kunes Country Auto Group.
“If you’re only chasing the dollars, you’ll never do the best, but if you invest in and take care of the communities you serve, then they will take care of you, too,” Gregg Kunes said.
Seeds Of Hope representatives said the organization “is incredibly grateful for this generous gift. The new van will make it possible for us to continue delivering Meals On Wheels, and find other ways to give back to our community.”
Seeds Of Hope is a horticultural and recreational community that brings new growth opportunities to adults with developmental and other disabilities. It was founded by Jamie Stilling-Stepp in 2013.
“Every day is an opportunity for learning and growing. Utilizing horticulture as a form of therapy provides an excellent opportunity to promote and inspire the lives of our community,” Stilling-Stepp said.
