The Big Foot High School National Honor Society sponsored an American Red Cross blood drive at Grace Church in Walworth on Nov. 20. The drive could potentially save 237 lives; 90 people came out to donate and after deferrals, 79 units were collected. “We are extremely grateful for the support of the community, staff and students,” NHS representatives said. Joey Schmitz, a junior at Big Foot, said when he was a child he had a burst appendix and appreciated the fact that many people gave blood so he could recover. He donates as a way to give back.
