The Aram Public Library began offering curbside pickup recently and according to the director, they’re happy to be doing so.
“Staff is thrilled to begin offering curbside pickup,” according to Michelle Carter, director. The library began the service April 24.
Carter said the process is fairly easy beginning with patrons calling the library at 262-728-3111 placing holds via the library catalog online at aramlibrary.org.
“After you’ve received notice that your holds are ready, call the library and say, “I’m on the way” and let us know if you need assistance,” she said.
Upon arrival, drive to the south library parking lot and those walking, biking are reminded to maintain six feet between them for social distancing and the next person, if anyone else is in the vicinity waiting to pickup items.
Watch for the orange cones as to where to park and the library will have your items ready – checked out and labeled – on the pickup table.
The schedule for curbside pickup is as follows: Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Carter reminds patrons library staff is there to help.
“Not sure what to read next? We’re happy to curate a collection for you,” she said, adding that all patrons need to do is call.
The library will remain closed to the public until further notice and book donations will not be accepted at this time.
“Please know, the community’s health and safety is a priority. Staff will be wearing masks and gloves and practicing social distancing,” Carter said.
