Voters in the East Troy Community School District’s voted down the $1.6 million, five-year, non-recurring operational referendum on the April 7 ballot. According to unofficial results, ETCSD referendum totals for last week’s spring election were:

Yes 1,881
In other local elections, School Board member Steve Lambrechts and Village of East Troy Trustees Alan Boyes, Forty Renucci and Matt Johnson were all re-elected after running unopposed. Village of East Troy Municipal Judge Michael Cotter also ran unopposed and was re-elected.
The one contested local race was for District 2 Walworth County supervisor where incumbent Bill Norem was challenged by Joe Schaefer, who beat Norem by less than 100 votes.

Im glad. Public schools, keep getting billions of our tax dollars, in addition to their huge budgets. Are the kids getting smarter, because of of these increases? Also, enrollments are down
