The next Lakeshore Memory Café will be March 10 at a new location – Barrett Memorial Library in Williams Bay.
The topic is St. Patrick’s Day and it will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Barrett Memorial Library, 65 W. Geneva St. in Williams Bay. There is free, ample parking at the library.
Also, there is a new Memory Café in Burlington starting later this month. It will be the third Friday of each month at the Aurora Wellness Center, Classroom B, 300 McCanna Parkway in Burlington. That café will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and will also feature a St. Patrick’s Day theme for it’s March meeting.
Memory Cafés are innovative, free, social engagement opportunities for those diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, early-stage Alzheimer’s and related dementias – and their families and care partners.
The cafés offer a time and place to share stories, laugh, reminisce and celebrate without feeling embarrassed or misunderstood by way of unique programs and discussions facilitated by library staff who have been trained by the Alzheimer’s Association.
In addition to the new café at Aurora Wellness in Burlington on the third Friday of each month, they are held the second Tuesday at rotating libraries.
The following remaining dates and locations for cafés this year are: March 10, Barrett Memorial Library, Williams Bay; April 14, Waterford Public Library; May 12, Aram Public Library, Delavan; June 9, Barrett Memorial Library, Williams Bay; July 14, Burlington Public Library; Aug. 11, Matheson Memorial Library, Elkhorn; Sept. 8, Aram Public Library, Delavan; Oct. 13, Lake Geneva Public Library; Nov. 10, Waterford Public Library; Dec. 8, Matheson Memorial Library, Elkhorn.
