Donations, volunteers results in 200 shoeboxes filled
Delavan Christian School recently held its Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party and according to organizers, it was a great success.
One representative said they wished all of the parents could have seen how amazing the kids were.
“Big kids were helping little kids, kids were working as teammates to fit everything in boxes, kids were talking about the children who would receive the boxes, and the prayers of blessing on the shoeboxes were so heartfelt and touching,” they said.
The goal was 200 boxes and, with the extra boxes that some families packed at home and sent in, the school hit their goal right on the nose.
“God is good! Thank you for your donations and support that enabled us to share Jesus’ love with kids around the world,” the organizer said.
As a drop-off location for the community, Delavan Christian School took in 1,396 boxes, which were packaged in cartons and sent on to Westosha Bible Church. From there the boxes went to Des Plaines, Ill., for processing and will be shipped around the world.
“Special thanks to the volunteers who greeted, carried, and packed boxes and those who helped with sorting and counting items for our packing party here at school. It was much appreciated,” the organizer said.
