Village approves outside storage ordinance

The Village of Darien board approved amending its ordinance regulating outside storage of things like recreational vehicles in the village last week. The board originally approved an ordinance regulating junked and recreational vehicles in May in response to resident complaints.

The updated ordinance approved July 15 changes the requirements for storing recreational vehicles on residential lots within the village.

The original ordinance required the vehicles to be parked on improved surfaces. The updated ordinance allows residents to park up to one vehicle on unimproved surfaces but adds open and closed trailers to the list of vehicles covered by the ordinance.
