Mary Ellen “Maya” Murphy, 89, of East Troy, passed away Dec. 21, 2018, at Aurora Medical Center in Summit.
She was born on March 26, 1929, to Lloyd and Ellen (Branstad) Cottrell. Maya was united in marriage to William Murphy on Dec. 22, 1952. She was a dietician for Waukesha County and also taught at MATC. Maya belonged to the Lake Beulah Yacht Club and served as President of Sidestays.
Maya is survived by her husband of 67 years, William; daughters, Susan Murphy, of Delavan, and Lynn Welscher, of Waukesha; sons, John (Richard Garduno) Murphy, of Milwaukee, and Michael (Heather) Murphy, of Aspen, Colo.; grandchildren, Robert, Anne, Patrick, Katie, John and Bridget; a sister-in-law, Ann; and a brother-in-law, Robert.
Maya is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael and John; and a son-in-law, Robert.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
