Badger co-op swim team wins dual

The Lake Geneva Badger co-op swim team won a dual meet against the Prairie School (146-16) and Jefferson-Cambridge (137-32) on Dec. 11.

The Badgers dominated the meet taking first, second, and third place in six different events:

  • 200-yard freestyle – Ben Shane (2:03.64), Nathaniel Rafe (2:07.97), Andreas Scocos (2:08.74);
  • 50-yard freestyle – Tom Whowell (23.63), Scocos (24.98), Steven Haworth (25.66);
  • 100-yard butterfly – Benton Greenberg (1:02.24), Evan Gerold (1:09.90), Tommy Anderson (1:11.53);
  • 100-yard freestyle – Jackson Biller (53.60), Shane (57.19), Nolan Cassidy (58.22);
  • 100-yard backstroke – Whowell (59.49), Jackson Biller (1:01.73), Carson Biller (1:09.01); and
  • 400-yard freestyle relay (3:36.84, 3:48.47, 3:50.27).

Other top finishes for the co-op team  included first and second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.33, 1:59.83); first, second, and fourth in the 200-yard IM (Greenberg, 2:18.05; Anderson, 2:26.60; Matthew Geils, 2:35.81); first in the 500-yard freestyle (Carson Biller, 5:44.97); first and second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:41.75, 1:42.65); and first in the 100-yard breaststroke (Cassidy, 1:10.63).

The Badgers also finished sixth at the Beloit Memorial Invitational on Dec. 15 with 262 points. Verona-Mount Horeb won the event with 670 points.

Top finishes in that meet included sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay (Scocos, Haworth, Geils, Gerold; 1:40.21), sixth in the 800-yared freestyle relay (Shane, Haworth, Greenberg, Carson Biller; 8:21.16), seventh in the 400-yard medley relay (Scocos, Cassidy, Greenberg, Jackson Biller; 4:08.28), eighth in the 400-ard freestyle relay (Geils, Gerold, Jackson Biller, Vincent DiVito; 3:49.30), eighth in the 100-yuard freestyle (Brandon Hirshmann, 58.45), and eighth in the 200-yard backstroke (Scocos, 2:22.41).
