The East Troy Village Board voted 5-2 to remove the East Troy Dam on the Honey Creek at tonight’s meeting.
The board’s decision comes after a year of debate over what to do with the dam that was damaged during the flooding in July 2017.
The village applied for a Department of Natural Resources grant to repair the dam, which it received, but in the end, the board members said removing the dam was in the best interest of village.

It is important the board find an environmentally responsible and community health safety position that does NOT use chemicals.
