Mary Ruth Brady, 97, of East Troy, who lived in Valdosta since 2010, passed away peacefully at home early on July 24, 2018. She was born on July 19, 1921, in Juneau, to the late Elmer and Erma (Schrap) Hartzheim.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife to the late Gerald Brady as well as a loving and caring mother to her two daughters, Kathleen and Karen.
Mary was a faithful and devout Catholic whose faith was foremost in her life.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Hartzheim, Paul Hartzheim, and John Hartzheim; sister, Pat Hartzheim; and son, Paul Brady.
Mary was a devoted grandmother to Shawn, Christopher and Jessica Ferguson, and had a very close bond with her grandson, David Roe.
Mary is survived by her brother, Joe Hartzheim; daughter, Kathleen (John) Roe of Valdosta, Karen (Scott) Ferguson of Berlington, Washington; great-grandchildren, Phillip Deason and Kylee Ferguson.
As per the family’s wishes, Mary will be flown home to Wisconsin to be buried next to her loving husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a donation be made to Langdale Hospice House.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Valdosta, Georgia, and also St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in East Troy.
Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday, July 31, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
