Highlights include live music, community acts and a family movie
Enjoy the sounds, smells and tastes of summer and support the Elkhorn Area Chamber of Commerce. Formerly known as Festival of Summer, the event is being revived by the chamber and will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3 and 4 in Veterans Park on the square downtown.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Aug. 3, artisans and crafters will be on the square. Corn and brats will be served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday will also feature an employee appreciation lunch. Tickets are available for $6 if purchased in advance, or $7 the day of the event.
On Saturday, Aug. 4, Corn & Brat Days will offer a full day of entertainment with a goal of providing fun for the entire family.
“Walk around, do a little shopping with the many crafters that line the square as well as our local businesses that open their doors with summer sales,” according to chamber staff.
In an effort to keep the kids entertained, activities such as bounce houses and slides will be set up.
People of all ages are encouraged to sit back and relax while taking in a variety of entertainment on the community stage. Numerous local groups will perform including Elkhorn Flying Dragons, Walworth County Cloggers, Dreams Studio, Bayside Athletics and Toe to Toe Ballet.
Adding to the entertainment on Aug. 4, The Amazing Farm Boys will take the state at 2 p.m.
Finally, to close out the day, the movie Moana will be shown in the park Saturday night.
Major event sponsors in addition to the chamber are Mercyhealth and TDS.
