• The June 18 City of Elkhorn Council meeting, at which the council followed a recommendation by the Plan Commission and voted in favor of approving a planned unit development overlay and general development plan for a 72-unit apartment project. However, this wasn’t the approval Roger Wolff, owner of Market Street Condominiums LLC wanted for his Copper Square project. The plan called for 108 units and Wolff said the project won’t be feasible with fewer units than that;

• The LAS Water Ski Show Team took to Elkhorn Lake at Babe Mann Park;
• At the 42nd Annual Walworth County Farm Bureau Dairy Breakfast and related farm tours at Kylecrest Holsteins and Jerseys, hundreds of people came out;
• The Elkhorn Fire Department hosted its annual dance which featured two bands, food, drinks and dancing.
• Local Boy Scout Troop 243 recently took an overnight, backpacking trip into the Kettle Moraine Forest, the first such experience for many of the scouts. Read how it went and see photos from the trip.
