The Walworth County Historical Society began its season last month and will offer programs through December.
Programs will be presented at a new time – 3 p.m. –this season in an attempt to accommodate more people’s schedules.
At 1 p.m. April 15, the Historical Society will host a special memorial tribute to Doris Reinke. Reinke was the foundation of the resource center, which holds comprehensive materials for people’s research and had received requests from all over the United States.
On May 12, the society will join the Sons of the Grand Army in dedicating a memorial to the last Civil War veteran to die in Walworth County. The event will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Tibbits.
May 19 will mark the opening of the Historical Society’s campus of buildings for tours for students and adults. Programs of general interest will be presented in June, July and August.
