Elkhorn Area High School recently announced Kevin Romero, a senior, has been selected as one of 20state-level nominees for the national U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
The criteria for successfully becoming a national finalists are: ACT or SAT scores; excelling in fine arts; demonstrating ability and accomplishment in the career and technical education field; and outstanding scholarship while overcoming hurdles or challenges.
Romero is up against numerous other students from all over the United States. He will find out in May if he has been chosen to go to Washington D.C.
He will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall and plans to go into medicine.
