Union Grove closed the game with a 15-0 run and beat Elkhorn 66-40 Feb. 23 in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal girls high school basketball game at Union Grove.
Elkhorn coach Jeff Brown said the Elks were within nine points with 13 minutes left in regulation. The Elks trailed 33-18 at halftime, and were outscored 33-22 in the second half.
The Elks executed a solid defensive game plan against the Broncos’ Brooklyn Bull, one of the best players in the SLC this season.
“I thought we did a great job guarding Brooklyn Bull, holding her to six points,” Brown said. “We recognized what they were in defensively, and had pretty good shots most of the night. Their other players shot very well.”
