The Elkhorn Area High School gymnastics dropped two dual meets to two of the area’s better teams last weeks, but performed well in doing so.
The Elks lost a non-conference meet 135.025-132.050 to Brookfield Co-op Jan. 11 at home and lost a Southern Lakes Conference meet 138.400-131.150 Jan. 8 to Burlington Combined, also at home.
“The Burlington meet was great to see where we’re at, especially against some great competition,” Elks coach Amanda Lockhart said. “It was difficult because it was only our second meet and we hadn’t had a meet for almost a month. The girls did a great job adapting.”
Burlington Combined is composed of gymnasts from Burlington, Badger, Wilmot Union, Union Grove, Burlington Catholic Central and Williams Bay high schools.
