An initial appearance was adjourned until Jan. 9 for a California man charged with an eighth drunken-driving offense in the Town of East Troy.
Daniel Roman Bialk, 50, of San Diego, was charged Jan. 3 in Walworth County Circuit Court with operating while intoxicated, eighth offense with a general alcohol concentration enhancer.
Bialk was pulled over for traveling 84 mph in a 70-mph zone on Interstate 43 at Miramar Road in the Town of East Troy at about 11:40 p.m. Jan. 2. Bialk smelled like alcohol and had bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech and poor balance, according to the criminal complaint.
Bialk was convicted of drunken driving in July 2001, August 2012, August 2013, July 2014, May 2015, March 2016 and January 2017.
