Public information meeting on Highway G/120 project set for Nov. 9
Walworth County, with its engineering consultant Ayres Associates, is evaluating alternatives for the replacement of the Highway G/120 (Church Street) bridge over Honey Creek in the Village of East Troy.
The replacement of the bridge will be done with county funds.
The project will consist of replacing the existing bridge and upgrading the roadway approaches on either side of the structure.
According to a press release from the Walworth County Public Works Department, the project was in the Walworth County program prior to rain events on July 12 and is not a result of that event. In addition, the project is independent of, and involves no work on the Village of East Troy dam, adjacent to the project limits.
The replacement of the bridge will take place sometime in 2018.
A public information meeting for the project will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the East Troy Village Hall, 2015 Energy Drive. Use the North entrance; the meeting will be in Room A.
The meeting will be an informal, open-house format with exhibits and handouts. Representatives from Walworth County and Ayres Associates will be present to answer questions and take comments. Persons with interest in this project are encouraged to attend.
The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. Hearing impaired persons needing assistance or persons requiring an interpreter, should contact the consultant project engineer Philip Bain at 262-523-4488 or bainp@ayresassociates.com, by Thursday, Nov. 2.
For additional information about the proposed improvements, interested persons may contact Bain at the above number or email. Bain can also be contacted by mail at: Ayres Associates, N17 W24222 Riverwood Drive, Suite 310, Waukesha, WI 53188.
