Mae A. Clark, 85 of Monroe, formerly of Elkhorn, died Nov. 20, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on Dec. 2, 1926 in Patch Grove, the daughter of Archie and Mattie (Crubaugh) Ward.
Mae and John Oostdik were married on Jan. 18, 1945, she later married Joseph Clark on Oct. 20, 1951. She was employed by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Dept. for 30 years before retiring and was Clerk of the Harness Racing at the Walworth County Fair in Elkhorn for 24 years. Mae was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkhorn and the Church’s Mary Circle. Throughout her life, Mae always loved and cared for animals, even during her stay at Pleasant View. But most of all she loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Jack L. (Rosemary Forcade) Oostdik of Monroe; grandson, Michael Oostdik of Janesville; granddaughter, Kimberly (John) Frankki of Hartland; 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Wilma (Bernie) Adams of London, Ky., also several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Joseph Clark, and sister, Ruby Ward.
A Memorial Service was held on Nov. 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Rev. John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A memorial fund is being established in Mae’s memory.
