Elkhorn’s annual Scare on the Square, described as a “frightfully free community event” is Saturday, Oct. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. on the square downtown.
Sponsored by the Elkhorn Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Elkhorn Recreation Department and Mercy health System, it will offer an afternoon of fun for the entire family, including scarecrow decorating, a bounce house, pumpkin decorating, a costume contest and free giveaways.
The costume contest is open to kids up to 12 years old, broken into the following age groups: 1-3 year olds, 4-6 year olds, 7-9 year olds and 10-12 years olds. There is also a category for the best family and prizes will be awarded to the top winner in each group.
A Halloween photo booth will be available by Sarah Behrens Photography & Design.
