Lakeland Players to perform a howling Halloween treat

Gomez and Morticia Addams proudly raise their weird and wonderful family to enjoy every moment of their miserable life in their rundown mansion house in Central Park, according to a press release from Lakeland Players about the upcoming performance of “The Addams Family.”

“With a soft spot for all things macabre and disgusting, Gomez is horrified to learn that his teenage daughter, Wednesday, is engaged to marry into a family quite unlike their own. ‘She’s growing up so fast. Soon she’ll be Thursday.’”

Before sealing the deal, the young lovers want to prove their families can meet and get along, which just happens to be arranged for the one evening each year when all of the Addams Family ancestors are raised from the dead.

While organizers admit this might not be groundbreaking theater, but is “jam-packed with scary sets, ghoulish gags, terrifying treats and everything else you’d expect from an evening in a haunted house. Get your tickets now …or else! (Cue thunder and lightning and an evil laugh),” the release states.

The musical will be directed by Pamela Danovich, choreographed by Cece Danovich and produced by Linda Kouzes, all of Delavan, with Megan Wilson, of Pleasant Prairie, serving as musical director.

“The Addams Family” will be performed at The Old Sprague Theater in Elkhorn, Oct 13 through 15 and 20 through 22. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees will be at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Elkhorn Chamber Of Commerce, by calling (262) 728-5578 or online at www.lakeland-players.org.
