Identical scores of 42 helped the Elkhorn Area High School girls golf team to a fourth-place finish Sept. 13 in the Panther Invite at Twin Lakes Country Club.
Elkhorn scored its second Southern Lakes Conference dual meet win of the season Sept. 12 with a 216-241 victory over Westosha Central at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville.
The Panther Invite featured a scramble format. The starting four golfers from each school split into pairs and played a two-person scramble.
Afton Malvitz and Payton Ross combined to shoot a 42, as did Ava Greeley and Hailey Czubernaut. Competitors golfed Twin Lakes’ front nine, which is a par 35.
Waterford’s Aubrie Torhorst and Maddy Anderson won individual medalist honors with a two under par 33.
The Wolverines won the team title with score of 75. Badger finished second (79), Burlington third (82) and Wilmot fifth (87).
Against Westosha, Greeley led the Elks with a 51. Afton Malvitz and Ross each finished at 54, and Czubernaut carded a 57.
“We had consistent scores in the low to mid 50s,” Elks coach Mark Malvitz said. “We played pretty well in the dry conditions, and our goal is to trim some strokes and get close to 200.”
Lyndsey Gulbrandson paced Westosha with a 56. Jalynn Warren finished at 60. Grace Anderson shot a 61, and Abby Luellen carded a 64.
