An initial appearance was scheduled for Sept. 14 for an Elkhorn woman charged with a sixth drunken driving offense.
Cynthia E. Hoffmann, 54, was charged Sept. 14 in Walworth County Circuit Court with operating while intoxicated, sixth offense; and felony bail jumping.
According to the criminal complaint, Hoffmann was apprehended for drunken driving at about 3:35 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 100 block of East MacClean Road in Elkhorn after a witness reported seeing Hoffmann driving while drunk. Hoffman smelled like alcohol and had bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech and difficulty keeping balance, according to the complaint.
Hoffman was convicted of drunken driving in February 1996, August 1998, August 2001, April 2002 and February 2006.
She was under bond conditions at the time on a fifth or sixth drunken-driving charge.
