Special lesson

Students and staff gather outside Jackson Elementary School in Elkhorn on Patriot Day, last Monday, to say the Pledge of Allegiance and learn about Sept. 11, 2001. Ceremonies were again held throughout the nation in remembrance of those who lost their lives, and in honor of the heroes that emerged that day 16 years ago during the terrorist attacks on the United States.
