The Walworth County Nutrition Program for Older Adults will sponsor the Senior Farmers Market program.
The program provides vouchers of $25.00 per household to eligible seniors to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from approved farmers markets and stands throughout the county. Walworth County will be able to provide vouchers to 260 senior households this year.
An eligible person is a Walworth County resident, is 60 years old or older and has a monthly household income of $1,860 or less for one person or $2,504 for two people.
Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until they’re gone. Vouchers will be distributed from 1 to 2 p.m. every Tuesday excluding July 4 at the Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services’ east entrance. They will also be available at the following locations:
- Brookdale Manor, 1061 Blackhawk Drive, Whitewater – 9 to 10 a.m. Monday;
- Blackhawk Manor, 1155 Blackhawk Drive, Whitewater – 10 to 11 a.m. Monday;
- Community Action, 1545 Hobbs Drive, Delavan – 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday;
- Geneva Hills, 1385 Elkhorn Road, Elkhorn – 9 to 10 a.m. July 18;
- Quail Run Apartments, 3202 Main St., East Troy – 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. July 18;
- Walworth Memorial Library, 525 Kenosha St., Walworth – 10 to 11 a.m. July 19;
- Starin Park Community Building, 504 W. Starin Road, Whitewater – 11 a.m. to noon July 25.
