Popular 5K mud run celebrating its fifth year
The Cancer Assault Challenge team is “proud and excited to announce that once again the MACC Fund will be the beneficiary of the annual fundraiser.” Proceeds from the Cancer Assault Challenge’s 5K mud run will benefit the MACC Fund and help support research for pediatric cancer and blood disorders in Wisconsin.
“The Assault Challenge Foundation is very proud to celebrate our upcoming fifth Cancer Assault Challenge. We are so thankful for the outpouring of support we have received from our sponsors, volunteers, communities, and of course, our runners,” Cancer Assault Challenge Chairperson Julie Lopez said. “We are very excited to once again partner with the MACC Fund this year. The extraordinary work that they do provides support to many in the state of Wisconsin and across the country.”
The 2017 Cancer Assault Challenge will be held on Sunday, May 21. The “exciting and inventive obstacle course runs through the Lutherdale Ministries grounds outside of Elkhorn. Built on the similar models of Tough Mudder and Warrior Run, the Cancer Assault Challenge is truly for runners of every level,” a press release about the event states.
The course itself has two options: what is described as a challenging 5K course with 17 obstacles, including water, climbing, endurance, and mud that is open to ages 12 and up, and; a one mile Couch Potato run that includes eight obstacles and is open to ages six through adult.
Full details on the race and online registration or a downloadable PDF registration form are available at CancerAssaultChallenge.org.
