The Big Foot boys basketball team ran into a red-hot offensive squad at East Troy on Tuesday night.

And there really wasn’t much the Chiefs could do to slow things down.

East Troy had four players in double figures, led 54-19 at halftime and cruised past the Chiefs 89-36.

The loss dropped Big Foot to 3-13 overall and 2-8 in the Rock Valley Conference. Beloit Turner is running away with the South Division title at 9-1, followed by Brodhead and Clinton at 3-7, Big Foot at 2-8, Palmyra-Eagle at 2-9 and Parkview at 1-9.

Three Chiefs – Beau Cary, Logan Eischeid and Heath Dillenbeck – had nine points each to lead Big Foot on Tuesday. East Troy’s Jonathan Ciriacks had 23 for the Trojans, who outscored Big Foot 35-17 in the second half.

The loss Tuesday came on the heels of a 71-51 Big Foot loss Jan. 26 to visiting McFarland.

Big Foot trailed by just three points at 26-23 at halftime, but the Spartans, tied on top of the North Division with Evansville, outscored the Chiefs 45-28 in the second half.

Cary had 25 points to lead the Chiefs, followed by Eischeid with 10 and Dillenbeck with seven.

Big Foot is back in action Friday night at league-leading Turner. The Chiefs travel to Evansville Monday, Feb. 6.
