Williams Bay wrestler picks up lone win

Williams Bay’s Titus Fredrick recorded the Big Foot-Williams Bay wrestling team’s only victory on the mat in a pair of dual meet losses last week at Palmyra-Eagle.

Fredrick pinned Palmyra’s Brian Navarro in 1:08 in the Chiefs’ 36-24 loss.

Big Foot also picked up forfeit wins at 285, 120 and 145 pounds.

Dropping decisions to the Vikings were Ethan Roland (170), by pin in 49 seconds to Connor Sullivan, and Malachi Fredrick (182), by pin in 1:03 to Javier Dixon.

The Chiefs forfeited matches at 220, 138, 160 and 195 pounds. Both teams forfeited at 106, 113, 126 and 152.

In a 33-24 loss to Parkview, the Chiefs’ only points came via forfeit at 182, 285, 120 and 132 pounds.

Just two matches were wrestled, as Big Foot’s Christian Flores lost 6-3 to Tyler Terry, while Roland was pinned in 1:54 by Gavon Brown.

Big Foot also gave up forfeits at 220, 126, 138 and 160 pounds. Both teams forfeited at 195, 106, 113 and 145 pounds.

The Chiefs returned to action Thursday night at Beloit Turner. Big Foot will compete at the Monroe Invitational on Saturday.

Repeated attempts to reach Big Foot head coach Doug Stetzer for comment throughout the season have been unsuccessful.
