Three take honors at National FFA Convention

Three Big Foot High School students recently made Big Foot High School proud, placing at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., last weekend, according to a post to the high school’s Facebook page.

Big Foot High School’s Amelia Hayden placed first in the nation in Food Products and Processing Systems, Division 2.

Big Foot High School’s Melissa Konkel and Sydney Bender also faired well at the convention, taking second in the nation as a team in Food Products and Processing Systems, Division 3.

The 89th annual convention was held Oct. 19-22 in Indianapolis, Ind.

The 2016-2017 annual theme for both the National FFA Organization and this weekend’s 89th annual National FFA Convention and Expo is “Transform: Purpose to Action.” The theme portrays the idea of working together to not only transform the message of agriculture through educating others, but also through transforming their passion for service in their communities by giving back in a variety of ways, according to the FFA’s website.

During the National FFA Convention and Expo, FFA members serve other by giving their time and talents during the National Days of Service.
