Town of Delavan in January 2013 are now charged with breaking into nine homes and a church in the Town of Whitewater area around the same time.

Jesse D. Adams III, 25, of Beloit, and Christopher Kimps, 28, of Whitewater, are charged with 10 counts of burglary of a building or dwelling, all as a party to a crime and as a repeater, related to the Whitewater-area burglaries. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 12 ½ years in prison with an additional two to six years in prison as a repeater.

The pair were charged in June with 11 counts of burglary and three misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property in connection with the Town of Delavan burglaries.

Adams, now an inmate at Green Bay Correctional Institution, pleaded not guilty to both the Whitewater- and Delavan-related charges and is scheduled for a status conference in both cases Dec. 28.       Kimps, an inmate at Waupun Correctional Institution, pleaded not guilty Aug. 30 in the Delavan case and is scheduled for a status conference Oct. 31 in that case and an initial appearance at the same time in the Whitewater-related case.

Adams and Kimps are suspected of breaking into 10 homes and a church in the towns of Richmond, Sugar Creek, LaGrange and Whitewater between Jan. 7 and Feb. 16, 2013, according to the complaint. The homes were broken into in a similar manner as the Town of Delavan homes were broken into – by forcing entry in most cases by breaking glass in doors, according to the criminal complaints.

The pair is suspected of breaking into Millard Community Church on County Highway O in the Town of Sugar Creek on Jan. 7, 2013, according to the complaint. Church members said they arrived at the church for a meeting that day and found a side door propped open with a cart, many doors throughout the church pried open and a window in the church’s kitchen broken. Several items were missing including a 24-inch TV, a project, a laptop and a speaker, according to the complaint.

The residences that were broken into, according to the complaint, were the homes of:

  • Robert and Rosemary Jeske on Kenosha Drive in the Town of Richmond on Jan. 7, 2013;
  • Margaret Kuchan and James Bronson on Kettle Moraine Drive in the Town of Whitewater on Jan. 8, 2013;
  • Phillip Derengowski on Anderson Drive in the Town of Richmond on Jan. 9, 2013;
  • James Creedon on Lost Nation Road in the Town of LaGrange on Jan. 17, 2013;
  • Michael Sullivan on Bayview Drive in the Town of Whitewater on Jan. 19, 2013;

Joan and Joseph Burke on Kettle Moraine Drive in the Town of Whitewater on Jan. 21, 2103;

  • Linda Wagner on Kettle Moraine Drive in the Town of Whitewater on Jan. 21, 2013;
  • Howard Rothstein on Kettle Moraine Drive in the Town of Whitewater on Feb. 14, 2103;
  • Roger and Patricia Anderson on Kettle Moraine Road in the Town of Whitewater on Feb. 16, 2013.

A detective spoke with Adams at the Dodge Correctional Institution on March 14, 2013, and Adams recalled breaking into Millard Church and the Derengowski, Creedon, Sullivan, Burke, Wagner, Rothstein and Anderson residences with Kimps, according to the complaint.

TVs were taken from multiple homes, and rifles were taken from the Kuchan residence, according to the complaints.
