Betty Jane Haman-Dallman, 86, of Delavan and Darien, died at Golden Years Retirement Village on Aug. 1, 2016.
She was born March 27, 1930, in Leeds to Lewis Anderson and Carrie Robertson.
She married Donald Haman June 21, 1952, in Darien. He died in 2003. Her second husband, Delbert Dallman, died in 2014.
She was the former owner and operator of the Village Cafe in Darien. Betty was a marvelous cook and especially remembered for her double-crust pies. Betty was involved the restaurant business all her life and a waitress in many establishments. Betty also was a former vocalist with some of the big bands. Her smile and laughter was contagious. She was a friend of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra “Tootie” Wheeler, of Darien, Cheryl (Mike) Maisonneuve, of Sharon, Karen (Jamie) Haman, of Delavan; and a grandson, Tommy (Char) Wightman, of Delavan. She was preceded in death by two husbands and five brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Burial will follow in Darien Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Betzer Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
